After months of waiting, talking about, watching shows, playing pretend concerts, and reciting songs, it was finally here.
THE FRESH BEAT BAND- LIVE IN CONCERT!!!
This was one of Tybee's Christmas presents. She has been really looking forward to going to see the Fresh Beats. This child LOVES music! She sings their songs as loudly as she can while beating the tar out of her guitar hero drum set. And this has not been short lived, she's been doing it for over a year now. We tried to explain to her what was going to take place, but I don't think she realized that the actual people would be there singing. The concert was in Cincinnati, so Clay left work a little early and we headed up for some pizza and fresh beats. When we got in the downtown area she was really infatuated with how tall the buildings were. She wanted to know how to get up there. It was really neat to hear her working it all out in her head. When we got to the theatre and our seats she wanted to sit in her own seat. She sat there quietly, just taking it all in. Right before the show started the kids started chanting, "Fresh Beat Band! Fresh Beat Band!". For those of you who watch Nick Jr., it was just like the little music video they play during the commercial time, and she clapped and shouted right along with them. SO CUTE!!! I have never seen so many precious little rock stars!
When the show started, she wanted to stand up and look at them- she did not take her eyes off of the stage. She was totally mesmerized. Every once in a while she would look over at one of us and smile. Sometimes she would sing along with them or you would see her little lips moving with the words. It made my heart happy.
We had such a good time. It was so neat to see her so into something. Sometimes I worried if she was ok because she was just so into it. All day before we left she had been really excited that "Millie gonna stay with Silva." (Sylvia is one of our babysitters, who she loves to play with) "Tybee's going with Mommy and Daddy." When we left the concert and were walking back to the car she looked over at Clay and said, "I miss my sister, I want to kiss her." Sweetest. Moment. Ever. Bless her sweet little angel baby heart. She loves her sister, and her sister loves her- I could just melt.
What a great little girl.
What a great day!
