We were very excited to get to host Easter at our house this year. We had done it several years back when we still lived in Daphne. It was so nice to be able to have all of our family at our house and to be able to take the load off of my Mom and let she and Dad enjoy the day. Now that Landon has moved to Illinois, it is a little easier for him to travel here than all the way down to Alabama to visit, so it worked out nicely.
Lee arrived first and spent the evening with us in which we tried to enjoy a movie together, but were overcome by extreme boredom.
Landon and Paige got in the next afternoon. While Lee and Landon took in a brotherly game of golf, Paige, Tybee, and I got busy on our cupcakes while Miss Amelia snoozed. They were Pink Lemonade cupcakes, with a cream cheese filling- and they were lovely.
Mom, Dad, and Auntie Rachel got in that night and the next morning we were up and at 'em getting ready for out lovely Easter lunch. Clay always does such a great job with the food- I can't express how grateful I am to have a husband who loves to make good food! He didn't disappoint this year, that is for sure! We had a delicious spread!
After lunch it was right on to corn hole and egg dying!
And then time to hunt!
All the happy couples ;)
Tybee apparently finds it necessary to have a "basket person". It would just be too much if she had to carry her own basket AND hunt at the same time, just. too. much.
I think we were all very glad that we were all able to meet up in the same place at the same time, at least for a little while. Times like these are few and far between these days. I think our family is great at making sacrifices so that we can all be together- and when we are together, we do our best to make the most of it!
